Sketch and Soda was born from a craving. Our founder wanted to participate in a classic “drink and draw,” but was not a fan of the predetermined art. There was no creativity, no freedom, just craft. Our founder wanted more exploration and play.
Sketch and Soda provides a space for people to play. Play with materials, play with technique, play with perspective, without judgment and without a determined final art piece. We want you to enjoy the process of creating, not just work towards having a piece to hang on your wall.
Although our name is Sketch and Soda, you can use whatever medium you want. Sketch, paint, draw, color with crayons, markers, oil pastels. Rip up paper and glue it into a collage. Literally, whatever you want (as long as it can fit in your lap… everyone deserves space to create)!
And the Soda part. We like to stay hydrated. We like to have a lil buzz going. We like to be a little loosey-goosey. It can make art easier for those who think too much. Sketch and Soda is BYOB, but we will have some soda waters available for you.
TL;DR: We want you to create whatever you want with whatever you want while you drink some sodas or the mild poison of your choice. Come be creative and play. No judgments here.
Our home base is at The Woods at Red Root Farm in Milford, CT. We host events all over the state of CT. Check out our events to see if there's one near you.
